OSHA regulations require remote <\/span>controls on all abrasive blast machines.<\/span>
Pneumatic remote control systems<\/span> operate efficiently with up to 100 feet of <\/span>twinline control hose. Electric remote <\/span>control systems operate efficiently at<\/span> distances up to 500 feet. For distances <\/span>greater than 300 feet, special remote <\/span>control cable is required. <\/span>
Requirements for Operation<\/span><\/strong>
These items are required but are not <\/span>included with the handle:<\/span>
\u2022 Twinline remote control hose<\/span> (for pneumatic handles)<\/span>
\u2022 Electric cord (for electric handles)<\/span>
\u2022 Blast machine fitted with Clemco <\/span>remote control valves<\/span>
\u2022 Power source (for electric handles)<\/span>
Description of Operation<\/span><\/strong>
Pressing the remote control handle<\/span> activates the system and starts blasting; <\/span>releasing the handle stops blasting. When <\/span>the handle is released, a spring-loaded<\/span> lever mechanism keeps the handle from <\/span>accidentally activating the system.<\/span>
The pneumatic handle utilizes twinline<\/span> hose (both sides of the twinline are <\/span>3\/16″ ID). Air travels out one side of the <\/span>twinline hose and escapes\u00a0 from an orifice <\/span>in the handle. When the handle is pressed, <\/span>a rubber button blocks the orifice, <\/span>diverting the air back along the other side <\/span>of the twinline hose. The returning air<\/span> activates the remote control valves to <\/span>begin blasting. <\/span>Electric remote controls use an electric <\/span>cord and micro-switch in place of the<\/span> twinline hose and orifice used in <\/span>pneumatic handles.
