Gauge, Nozzle Orifice – 8402-000-17
Check your nozzle size and wear with a Nozzle Orifice Gauge
Blast nozzle wear can lead to increased abrasive usage. If the opening has grown, even slightly, you are likely using more air and abrasive media than necessary. Check your nozzle size regularly and replace worn nozzles to save time and money.
How to check your nozzle size:
1- Shut down the blast system and relieve all pressure before removing the nozzle
2- Remove the nozzle from the holder and wipe away any dust or blast media
3- Using the nozzle gauge, mark a line with a pencil and place it into the bore
4- Check for excess clearance, and twist the gauge. If the gauge fits loosely or passes through easily, the nozzle is worn
5- Measure the bore size and compare it to the original diameter
6- Replace the nozzle if the opening has increased beyond acceptable limits to prevent excess air and media use
